That’s my first amigurumi and it took nearly two weeks to finish (or at least, to see the whole picture)- I must say that sc crocheting is something I find very relaxing to do, but I had several problems with sewing the legs to the body, and more generally, I suck at symmetry and sewing together amis :P.

I have to admit I’m not a great my Little Pony fan, but my friend Chiara is, so I decided I would give her one for her birthday- Cuor di Zucca (pumpkinheart) is not in the original cast of Friendship is Magic, rather is her own creation. He’s male, orange, and he is a magic pony!
Since he’s a boy I used the pattern for the male nose, which the pattern advices to place at the center of the head, but somehow it looked more like a cantaloupe pig rather than an orange pony, so I undid it and sew it as it were a female nose.

For the tail and mane, I wanted to give Cuor di Zucca something really fancy without too much hassle (the cords of the original pattern are beautiful but require too much time and most of all, can’t be cut in shape after attaching)- So I had this gauge swatch of rainbowy Tiger Strompegarn I took some time ago sitting unused and I unraveled it without removing the kink… now cuor di Zucca has a beautifully rainbow curly rain!

I finished Cuor di Zucca! I didn’t think that embroidering on crochet fabric was so hard. Cuor di Zucca cutie mark is a pumpkin, and his eyes are made from white felt and black and light brown mouline’. I don’t even know how on earth I managed to embroider the eyes but seems I did it!
