Notes

I made a practice square with scraps before using my whole skeins. I’m glad I did because I made a big mistake! I also found I was using too big a hook (I) with worsted weight so I downsized to (H). Now I have the kinks worked out and it is coming out beautifully.
Square measures 25” with the (H) hook. I had to buy more blocking mats to acommodate this but I think it will be worth it!
12 squares done but I have decided to make 16. I want it to cover my queen size bed. I will make it 4 squares wide by 4 squares long. I have an extremely deep mattress. I’m sure this would fit a king size as well. It would just have less overhang on the sides.
July 19th..just finished the 16th square. Just have to block it and crochet them together.
I’m using 4 shades of 4 colors; purple, gold, green and turquoise
A bonus with this blanket is that every time you rotate it you get a different color combo! I love it.
Update: after using the blanket for a month I think I should have used a G hook (4.0) or (4.5) instead of H (5.0). Mainly because of the sheer size of it. I’m noticing some stretching in the yarn and a tighter weave would have controlled some of that.
Overall I absolutely love it and it has been keeping me nice and warm!
