Notes

This was a really fun design to do - from devising the lace stitch pattern to the actual knitting to writing the pattern. I love how the lace came out super stretchy and the design spirals around the leg.

The leg design is fully charted - there are no ‘repeats’ for the spiraling design. The basic lace stitch is written and charted for the instep. These charts are pretty easy to follow and would make a good introduction to charted knitting.

There is quite a lot of yardage in a skein of Carys BFL Sock yarn which for my foot length gave me some yarn left over.

Given my part Irish heritage, when Sharon asked if I would be interested in doing a design for TIGs, something inspired by the Giants Causeway immediately came to mind. The Causeway has long fascinated me. I think this design captured a sense of the Causeway surrounded by the North Atlantic Ocean.
