“Resukoto” is my interpretation of a traditional Japanese “Happi Coat” - oh so very comfortable to wear. (If you look closely at the photo of my original cotton happi coat, you’ll see it has mending & is pretty well worn out).

While my original happi coat was sewn of fine cotton, this version is knit in a blend of silk & cotton yarn. The lace panels are flanked by simple stockinette stitch, with garter st used for the front bands/collar. The crocheted ties can be placed however high or low the knitter desires. Ribbon could also be used in place of the crocheted ties.
