Hunter's stocking

Project info
Heirloom Christmas Stocking by Amy Johnson
Needles & yarn
US 6 - 4.0 mm
Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted

Bought this as a KnitPicks custom kit. The light green bits looked dingy in the photo, so I ordered cream (Cloud colorway) instead and am subbing accordingly.

Other changes: I’m alternating boys and girls (as shown in pattern but not in photo), and am using the light brown for half of their faces. My nephew lives in a diverse community and it just didnt feel right to make him an all-white stocking. I used one piece of yarn for each face, as in intarsia, so I wouldn’t have huge long floats.

I don’t want overtly religious motifs in this, so I’m substituting snowflakes for the drums and reindeer for the camels.

12/18: The knitting has been done for a couple of weeks - today I finally finished weaving in a gazillion ends and duplicate-stitching the Christmas trees between the reindeer.

Knitting in Oregon and the Netherlands.
