Notes

I’m knitting this for unusual hands in size XS. The thumbs start after 2/3 of the palm.
The right hand has only 4 fingers, the first and the middleringfinger are bit bigger than the other fingers.

They are displayed on cardboard blockers, I had asked my friend to trace the outline of her hands and used that as orientation. They are much too small for my hands so I can’t take pics, I’ll have to wait until she puts them on and see how they fit.

The pattern is soo nice, the cuff is a bit hard to knit. You wrap the wrapped stitches a second time on the second half of Chart B/C and knit the stitch and wrap loops together, sometimes while cabling them, when you come to them. (Thanks to Becky for answering my question regarding this, via ravelry message!)
I definitely want to knit those again, maybe even for myself. I’ve got another skein of that yarn, but the red is a bit ..red. Maybe I’ll overdye the yarn first and make a semi-solid purple?

Mods for the right hand with 4 fingers:

Knit normally until the thumb gusset increases for size xs were finished. Then knitted 4 rounds without shaping and did one more increase row and 2 more rows of knit. After that I knitted 7 rows without shaping until row 8 of chart E.
put 14 st. on hold, cast on 4 and knit to row 16 of chart E, realized that I needed to start the fingers if the glove should fit. hm.

I’m going to leave out chart F completely, as the right hand has only 4 fingers, that’s perfect, because there is no need to get from 3 cable columns to 4. I just need 3 columns.

I started the fingers directly after last row of chart E. Little finger: k5 from holder, CO 3, work 5 onto 1st needle of round, p2tog at the beginning to get the cable running up the finger. M1p on the left side twice and M1 so I had 8 st. on 1st needle and 4 st. on each of the other 2 needles.

Ring/middle finger: k 8 from holder, CO 3, k 11 from 1st needle, M1P 2 times to center cable. M1 on the back of the finger to get 24 st total. decr. 3 st on row 20.
