today the rain is really getting to me.. pulled out my grandmother’s old magazines and found this pattern… should go fast.. a short jacket, no buttons, 3/4 length sleeves
mom likes short sweaters, may gift it to her if the size comes out right! otherwise whoever it fits gets it!
original pattern calls for cuddlespun - discontinued by Bernat 50/50 wool/nylon
but Fiamma seems to be a good substitute in terms of gauge and no. of meters in skein
cuddlespun weighs in at 57 grams and about 75 meters if I remember correctly
we shall see!
ps sorry for the colour clash in the photos!
2 dic
told mom that I was making this for her from grandmom’s book - she was thrilled and loves the colours!
finished back and am casting on the sides
I am going to make the sides about 1/2 inch wider that called for, because I think I should have made a size 14! will add the stitches on the sides and see how it goes.
before I cast on the sides - I want to look through my buttons and find some!
4 dic
almost finished with the two front panels - which I decided to work together so that they are specular
moving along fast!

moving along now
today I visited my friend serenella who gave me 4 great vintage metal buttons for the jacket
30 dic
done!
I changed my idea for buttons - the metal ones were too heavy
opted for beautiful glazed mother of pearl buttons in tones to match the colours in the sweater
tomorrow it goes off to mother!
