Notes

This capelet reminds me of tasmanian native animals with the muted brown tones of squishy/fluffy yarns I collected recently from a local chain yarns store sale. Tasmanian animals are mainly small marsupials - wallabies, bush rodents, kangaroos, wombats, platapus and the famous tasmanian devil (which is course haired black/chocolate brown hues). This garment is softer and slinky textured (more like domestic critters or fake fur)where as animals in the wild have courser coats with dust/dirt laden hair, matted patches, scaring and wonderfully soft luxurious belly fur. My husband says my knitting often seems unconsciously linked to the colours flora and fauna of our State which is hardly surprising as creativity and cultural/environmental osmosis are pretty much one and the same - to me any way.
