Project info
Thousand Branches Kimono by Jane Thornley
Knitting
Coat / Jacket
friend concert pianist wearing at her show
large but suites different sizes
Needles & yarn
Notes

well almost finished my one thousand branches kimono in brown colour ways. a friend has a performance pending of her own piano compositions with a small orchestra & she wants to wear this jacket! Apart from giving me the incentive to finish this piece, I am really touched as she is an excellent musician & her works are inspired by Tasmanian landscape. This jacket is surprisingly light - the fibre mix has a variety of eyelash type yarns as well as some organic hand-dyed - silk/mohair etc. It is knitted on larger sized needles & with lots of holey rows. The holes prevent it from being too hot, help with drape & part of making this a comfortable & soft garment which can also be draped like a blanket over my lap at the movies on a cold winters night.
