I’m going to be having a bigger gauge. Not gonna even try for this gauge. I know my limitations and we have a yarn problem (I can never find dk or aran) so I’m going with what I know works for hats for me and that is 90 stitches going around the head….So I’m decreasing the cast on by 40 and praying for the best. I’m also knitting this tighter than I normally do
I’m very happy with my deciding to chagne the cast on-looking as if it will fit nicely. I was able to finish up to the pleats today and they were fiddly as all get out but omg so cute! Can’t wait to finish this sucker!
So..I worked on it at our knitting group and I was too scared to try it on (lest I appear stupid because I made it wrong with my guessing on the cast on)…so I looked like an awesome ninja at knitting group, everyone oohed and ahhhed over the awesome pleats and I timidly tried it on in my own bathroom when I got home…FREEKING PERFECT. haha!

I had no clue how I wanted to embellish it. I think I’m going with yellow yarn. I’ll look for cute ribbon next time I shop-I’m not loving the one I had on hand. :)
Update: I am working on hat 2 and took better care in reading the pleat portion. I realize now, that I did my pleats wrong in the first one-but I do love how it turned out-it is nice and sassy-and the wrongness of my pleats is why they stick out a bit…Instead of actually folding them-I instead, slid both of the slipped stitches to the other end of the dpn..and THAT Is why they were REALLY hard to knit together…DOH! At the time, I just thought it was problematic because my yarn was thicker. IDC… I LOVE IT!
