I have been looking for the right yarn to make this bikini top pattern. Something that would look good but be able to wear in the water. I soaked 1st triangle in water & it hardly absorbed a drop - was dry in minutes and didn’t change shape.

After looking so long online for suggestions for a crochet yarn for bathing suits, I’m surprised that people haven’t been suggesting this yarn. I think it is beautiful and I can’t wait to complete this project.

A note on reviews for this yarn is that it unravels easy. I took a picture of the ravel vs unravel and I think the unravel is beautiful. It’s soft and could be used for other kinds of projects.

I took the pattern for this project as a guideline. I like the way the crocodile stitch uses 2 double crochet instead of the usual V stitch. Since I was using the thicker Red Heart Nylon cord for the straps (trying to make this top as water wearable as possible), it took a few attempts to fill in what needed to be covered (mainly the sides).

Update: This bikini top made it to Burning Man 2017 with a co-worker. She didn’t get a picture since she was wearing at night but really liked it :-)
