Mods: knitted the smallest size, but lengthened the body/armhole slightly (body 41cm, armhole 17cm). The yarn has worked out as a really great sub for the Rowan Creative Focus with its wool/alpaca blend (and um, quite a bit cheaper).

I was a bit unsure how long to knit the shoulder/neck sections at the top of the sleeves (slightly stretched or not?); but found most help with this by looking closely at the photos in the pattern book and lining the patterns up accordingly. I felt that the neck sections had to definitely all correspond at the top of the funnel neck cable-pattern-wise, and so I realised that there would be a certain amount of stretching/easing in at the seaming stage. This actually all worked out brilliantly when seaming, and it gives a great fit across the shoulders. Also I firmly blocked the funnel neck to get it as level as poss.

ps: I must admit to feeling rather smug that I had managed to avoid any cable-bodge ups; only to find that I had knitted the bottom rib about half an inch too long on one of the pieces… so an extra bit of ‘easing-in’ was necessary… hm.

OK, so this has turned out so so well: the fit and colour are brilliant its completion though has coincided with the temperature finally reaching double figures… so I could only wear this briefly for the photos. I’m not really complaining, but then I am!
