sweater #9, 2016

Continuing my current stash-and-burn/colourwork phase, this little pullover is next in line with Noah in mind. We’re looking after him this Easter and we’re hoping to take him to the lighthouse! Perhaps it’ll be ready for him to wear… Hoping this size won’t be too big: he’s 4 but he’s a big lad.

I had originally planned to knit this Drops pullover and I had knitted a fair part of the body; but the shape turned out to be a bit too boxy and odd. What I did like though was the stripe sequence, so I’m replicating it on this pattern (Gathering Stripes is old favourite of mine - this is my 4th!). I’ve spliced between all the colour changes, so only minimal ends to sew in, hurrah.

The Spurn lighthouse has just been renovated and is now a museum/attraction - in fact, it opens today (25.3.16). We can’t wait to visit!

Yarn: I bought the Mo&Co yarn at Yarndale a few years ago; it’s really lovely stuff, but sometimes you buy nice yarn and then find it really difficult to find the ‘right’ pattern for it… or a pattern that’s ‘good’ enough! Also using up some J C Rennie miniballs and some Norwegian wool, picking out some shades with a suitable maritime theme going on.

1.4: finished and love it (again)! The turquoise buttons are perfect for it. Modelled photos to come in a few days’ time.

4.4: great pics of Noah modelling! My back is now in traction after picking him up. Also he says he can’t really wear it because “it’s itchy”…. oh dear.
