This was another knit I made progress on at Annabel’s island, Hvalø: I had the most wonderful time there, so it’ll be part of a lovely memory for me.

I’ve used the PY Olivia held double for this: I must admit I spent the latter part of the knitting process crapping myself that I wouldn’t have enough yardage. I’ve knitted the smallest size, but made it longer in the body (approx. 20” on the blocking board - all the other measurements are spot on for the 34” size). But all was well… I made it through by the skin of my teeth (a few yards left, in other words).

I’ve knitted it as per the pattern, although I didn’t quite understand the armhole pick-up stitch count: ‘48 sts for the left/right front at a rate of 2 sts for every 3 rows’ was part of the instructions. I didn’t pick up anything like this amount for this section of armhole - not sure if this is a typo?

Anyway, I’ve ended up with a dinky little silk top, not as roomy as the original, but I would have needed more yardage… which I didn’t have! Nice to have got something out of this skein of Posh: it really is the most lovely silk and I love the laidback shade.

20.9: not terribly good photos as the mizzly Humber light is poor today, and I seem to have my eyes shut in a lot of them! You can’t see the detail on the back very well, which is a pity. Husband thought I had it on the wrong way round (errrmm, see photo 2… I think not!). And it’s the sort of top which would be best worn bra-less, but that’s kind of not an option for me… lol
