After a couple of months of brain-fog and prevarication, I’m restarting this cardigan with some stash yarn of which I have enough yardage to complete the project. Duh.

NB: once the back is finished, you need to end on a RS row to then join in the round for the sleeves.

I picked up 297sts for the harebell section and knitted into the back of each st; this gives a nice tidy join. I’ve knitted 14” (rather than 12” in the M size) of harebell for the body, and also longer sleeves, to fit me. I-cord cast off: I’ve similarly knitted into the back of each picked-up st for a neat finish.

Yarn: it’s beautiful silky stuff and the Riverside colourway is a soft heathered blue/green. The yarn was in a sale at Tangled Yarn for about £5 per ball, I think, so quite a bargain cardigan.

17.1: well, this has turned out well after all the farting about. The harebell-at-the-bottom way of wearing it is more wearable and comfortable; the other way up (photos 1 and 3) is groovier - more like a shawl-collared shrug - but doesn’t feel quite as stable on the shoulders (eta: I’ve added a shawl pin and it’s fine now).

Really, I like everything about it, so I think it’s a thumbs-up. And a knit that isn’t a hat!
