This is really lovely yarn that I bought incredibly cheaply at £1.49 a ball in a Kemps’ sale (it’s pretty cheap at the usual price for the quality, I think).

Anyway, I got started with this project in Norway, hence the placeholder photo. The cardigan will forever remind me of the deep cobalt blue of the Oslo Fjord!

24.10: I’m sure I swatched for this, but I noticed at the armhole stage that my gauge was way off, hence knitting the size above my usual from that point on: my knitted back (bust) measurement for the cardi is now exactly 18” (rather than an unrealistic 16”!). I think I have about 20 sts to 4” in st st, rather than the pattern’s 16.5 sts, so probably should have gone up at least one needle size. Anyway, I’ve procrastinated so many times about this pattern that I’m just going with it! I’ve tried it on as I’m knitting and I adore the shape and fit.

Mods: exactly as per the pattern, other than adding length to the body (mainly a longer bottom rib) and also buttonholes for a front closure (though I haven’t got any suitable buttons as yet).

Final verdict: wonderful!!! The first few photos show the colour well, the last few, the overall shape/length… though it’s very bad light today.
