Well off we go… I’m attempting my first stranded colour work project. I saw this goose/duck vest that I really wanted to try to make. Going to be following this pattern but adding the colourwork myself.

I’m also not using mohair, it was too expensive to buy a few different colours in mohair + merino, so knitting this holding 1 strand.

Using KFO mustard for the bills, KFO Dark Cognac for the feet, KFO Cloud for the bodies, KFO Caramel for the ribbing, and Q&C leek for the main vest colour.

Finished the back up until after the armhole increases today. Starting the front from the left shoulder. Says to pick up and knit along the shoulder, then do some stockinette stitch rows (6 total), doing that all in the green. Starting colourwork on the neckline shaping row.

Finished the project. It’s my first colourway and as I’m carrying strands of yarn all the way around, its tighter around the waist than id like it to be. I’d size up next time. Now I’m blocking!

Also the v is WAY too big. Dont know where I went wrong in the pattern there… oh well

Realised why the neck trim was odd… I messed up and didnt do the knit 2 together in the front center so theres an odd thing going on with the trim… maybe I will frog this part…
