Cast on 7 stitches for each pattern.
1st Round, O, P, O, P2, T, P2.
2d Round, plain.
3d Round, O, P3, O, P, T, P.
4th Round, plain.

Note: This one doesn’t actually work as written. Both Rnd 1 and Rnd 3 use 7 sts but make 8 sts. The obvious way to make it square would be to add another decrease. So, I replaced the T (together) with an A (double decrease). A single repeat makes a nice little edging but this stitch pattern does not stack up.

Modern instructions, modified to be worked flat with a garter frame.
Note: this works only as an edging with a single repeat.

Row 6: K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3, turn.
Rows 7-10: Knit across, turn.
