Even though the yarn label says DK, it’s knitting up at 4.5 stitches per inch, and blocking to just under 4.25 (without any stretching, smooshing, patting or other semi-aggressive techniques.

10.19.2010Cast on the back this morning, but started a sleeve at work last night. Cable are too complicated to manage at my desk, but stockinette sleeves should be just about right.

11/1/2010 Project relegated to the sidelines for a bit as I work on baby projects for friends, coworkers and the whole pregnant universe. I’m still working on it, but the odds of cranking it out as quickly as I want have gone down.
Also, the yarn is not that pink in real life. It’s a lovely tomato-y red, not nearly so pink and orange.

11/18/2010 Finished and blocked all the pieces over the weekend and sewed it all together over the last couple of days. I just picked up stitches for the collar. The sleeves are a bit snug (I have…meaty…arms) but with another, more careful blocking should get me a little more room.

12/1/2010 Finished the collar and ties and am reblocking the whole thing. My seaming skills are such that a good full-immersion blocking can only help. Hopefully the sleeves, with a bit more attention during blocking, won’t be so snug.
