A gift for dear friends’ first grandchild. The baby was born a month before the blanket was done, but as they live out of town we didn’t see them until the blanket was finished.

This was a wonderful learning experience for double knitting! I did change a stitch here and there to tweak the pictures more to my liking, but mostly stayed to the pattern.

I accidentally cast on one too many stitches and didn’t discover it until after the border rows. Instead of starting over, I added one stitch to the pictures along one side.

I entered the colour count per row into an excel spreadsheet to make following the pattern easier.

I’m now ready to take on more challenging double knitting projects!
