Notes

swapping to this pattern for my “Miss Marple Shawl”

The Miss Marple Shawl comes from the Joan Hickson era of the Agatha Christie Miss Marple tv series. Whenever something happens (ie: there’s a murder) late at night there’s a shot of Miss Marple sitting up in bed, either knitting or reading. She’s always wearing a soft pink knitted shawl. And that’s this. I want a lightweight shawl for when I’m sitting up in bed, also knitting or reading. I tend to wear quite scanty nighties as I’m too warm in bed, but at bedtime my shoulders can get cold. So here we are.

Enjoyable knit. Fairly quick. I’m doing an hour most evenings and can see it progressing well.
I’ve had to tink back a couple of times but finding the lace section much easier to read (and therefore easier to fix any mistakes) than previous attempts at lace knitting.
Went with the recommended needles but next time if i use this yarn again I’ll definitely size down and use straight needles. It’s quite narrow. I don’t think you need circulars.

Now blocked and hanging over the end of the bed ready to use.
I need to learn to block better, but I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.
