The never ending project.
It took me almost one year to finish this cardi, which was started so enthusiastic. The interesting and far from usual construction thrilled me and it grew quite fast, even though the splitty and non-elastic yarn was not a pleasure to work with. But from the swatch I knew, that it will bloom and soften much after washing, so I kept on, but it was really hard work.
The skirt part was the most boring knit I ever made, and I always fell asleep after 2 rows with 341 stitches k3p1…
As I did not want a flaring skirt-like lower part I could even not change to larger needles; the only luxury was to change from 3.75 to 4 after 5cm.
To prevent the hem from flaring, I further added the same tight I-cord as given for the sleeves, and together with the full short row program for the back I got exactly the silhouette I wanted. So - better late than never - I am very happy with this cozy cardi. As expected, after soaking it has lost all of its stiffness (lots of spinning oil in these cone yarns!), next time I will wash it before knitting!
