Notes

well, this was a bit of an adventure.

I just started off doing a shallow triangle in stockinette for some mindless holiday knitting last year. It kept me going on the ferry, in normandy, in dijon, and across to the grapevines in alsace, where i saw rows upon rows of vines of black-purple grapes, just waiting to be mashed up into something tasty :)

When i came back i started on the lace edge, i was obsessed with cables in fine yarn and decided i wanted a faggoted cable in there somewhere, i used parts of the hemlock ring blanket pattern to start me off but i had issues with the extra decreases i had to put in to compensate for YOs either side of the cables so i got a channel that i didn’t like running up the middle of each bit. I ripped it back and changed to the strangling vine pattern for the middle and that worked much better, then i improvised the edge into the aeolian border. Shouldn’t have bothered with the nupps, you can’t really see them in this weight of yarn.

The shape came out weird because i didn’t have enough increases to continue the triangle so i’ve got something a bit more like the faroese shape, would have suited a crescent section better. Ah well, I’m not unhappy enough to frog it, when it’s scrunched up around my neck it does the job just fine, so it can stay :)
