Notes

02/03/2011 -> I’ve just bought some yarn on etsy, I hope that when it arrives here it will be as good as it looks for this lovely scarf.
31/01/2012 -> After almost a year I have finally started this project.
01/02/2012 -> About to start increases. I’ve marked every 10th stitch to avoid errors. This makes for 15 stitches were I have to knit three stitches out of one and 2 were I have to knit two stitches out of one. If I’m not mistaken, I’ll end the row with 199 stitches.
06/02/2012 -> I was a bit confused about the pattern but Baerbel was very helpful and now I am about to reach row 13, where the decreasing will start.
09/02/2012 -> I was working on row 19th and detected an error ;_; so I had to go back to row 13th, where I had my last life line. So bad…
13/02/2012 -> I’ve just finished the knitting so I’ll be starting the crocheted border soon. It looks great though I’m not sure if I’ve messed up somewhere because it is not symmetrical. I’ve read the pattern over and over again and I think that I’ve followed the instructions correctly. Anyway, I am happy with the results and as I plan to wear it more like a scarf than a shawl it is not a big problem. I hope I’ve got enough yarn left for the flower.
15/02/2012 -> I am crocheting the border not exactly as the pattern describes because I want to add a bit more width with it, the problem is that I don’t have much yarn left. I very much doubt I will have enough for the flower, I’ll have to come up with another solution.
17/02/2012 -> I’m not adding more width as I have serious problems with the amount of yarn I have. So I am doing the border as it should be hopping that I have enough yarn this time. The problem is that I bought my yarn on etsy and there was only one skein available, it should have been enough but it certainly depends on your gauge. If I ever do this again I will take this into account for sure.
21/02/2012 -> Finally got to the end of the scarf and I even have a little yarn to try to do a flower. I am improvising a bit here.

Future ref.:

  • The “remaining stitches” can be at the beginning of a group of stitches.
  • Add new 10ths? I think not.
  • Decrease at even numbered rows also?
