used leftover purple sock yarn (Valley Yarns Huntington) for comb and face.
for comb, took ‘lazy’ (non-sewing) route, which was more difficult than sewing the stupid thing as per directions would have been.
picked up 40+ stitches along back and tail. used a circular so needle would bend. knit one row, then did cast off. fudged the number/size of picots in the bind off. did the large picots in the middle (lower back/upper tail) because it made sense at the time.
would not recommend this method. or, do it with a very short-tip circular.
