Holy moses, my brain was so not working when I started this cos I had to redo that first row four times to get the numbers right. And then remembered to put a stitch marker in the first and last stitch to keep things on track.

Just gunna keep going til I use up the yarn of both the grey and blue. I say that every time but this time I really will do it.

Took a tip from other projects and cast on 80 stitches instead of 100 to allow for the thicker yarn and hook.

Ha, I dug into my stash cos I was sure I was going to run out of yarn and miraculously found a pale aqua that almost matched the blues of the Escape. But turns out I didn’t need it, I actually finished with a bit of the Escape to spare in both blue and grey.

The beanie is comically huge but no doubt someone will have a head that big. I did ignore the pattern tip to fake the join and instead slsted which has created a distinct line but I rather like that.

So glad to finally use up all this yarn!

If I didn’t have a rule to never repeat patterns, I’d make this again with a thinner 8ply.
