Started this with a 4mm but the combination of that with the 3ply of the Kunzea was too gappy for my liking, even though the pattern pic in closeup is pretty gappy too. So restarted with a 3.5mm cos for some reason, I have no 3mm in the KnitPro Symfonie. Plenty of metal 3mm but working the slippery Kunzea with a metal hook makes my hand hurt a bit.

Swapped the starting ch 3/4 for a standing tr/dc.

Did try to incorporate beads until I realised the subsequent row went right over them. Might try to work them into the scallops.

I only did two solid and two lace panels and only five rows of the second lace panel before going to the edging. Prolly could have done more but I was nervous about how much the shawl was growing and didn’t want to run out of the yarn on the scallops.

Worked the beads into the edging so 3 dtr/trs, ch 1, place bead, ch 1, 3dtr/trs. It’s quite a subtle look and makes me wish I had put in an extra ch on the lace to work in beads. But that would have changed the look a lot, I suppose.

Beads were Toho round size 6 Transparent Topaz.
