Doing this in 4ply rather than 8ply so going with a 3.5mm which seems about right for the posts.

Really hope I can use up all five skeins in this and have none left over. Going from brightest at the brim to darkest up the top.

Did the brim to fit comfortably around my head. Prolly could have gone smaller but didn’t want to stretch it out too much and also so it could fit someone with a bigger head than me. Though next time I do a brim with 4ply, I should really use a 3mm to get a tighter fabric, I think.

Interestingly, the body is 90 stitches around just like the 8ply pattern. I’m going to see if that’s a decent enough fit and whether I need to rip it back to the sc round and do a few increases.

Went to 6 inches on the body before switching to the crown.

Ahh, I wish I had known the folded brim would cover a good deal of the body cos then I would have used my favourite blue for the crown, maybe. Oh well.

Still happy with this, and it seems like a nice fit if a little long. Didn’t end up using all five skeins. More like most of four with remnants from all four, and none at all of the fifth. Sokay, I can use those up in something else.
