I made one of these for my daughter when she was a newborn, and I loved it so much I had to remake it in a larger size. My gauge is way off, so I had to knit a 2yr size and it fits her pretty well, maybe just a bit large, at 10mo.

I knit the bottom stockinette section a bit longer than the pattern called for for extra flounce.

I used Icelandic bind off for the sleeves and body because I like how well it matches garter stitch.
