after looking at both the knitty and book versions of the heel flap: started the heel flap on the first 32 st after the end of repeat 6, again doing sl1/k1 for the right side of the flap as personal preference.

picked up 16st (one at the very top of the gusset, not a slipped stitch)

restart round counting with top of foot

• odd rows of odd pattern repeats/even rows of even pattern repeats, k2tog at left side of sole (facing me)
• even rows of odd pattern repeats, odd rows of even pattern repeats, ssk at right side of sole

gusset ended at round 7 of repeat 2
