We are now able to publish the Nomadnoos book that we have been working.

It is 60-page hardcover book with seasonal stories and photographs of Mongolia and Nepal where the threads used are produced.

Nomadnoos is helping women who are still marginalized to work, but seems to donate a portion of their proceeds to the activity.

Nomadnoos yarn is a hand-spun yarn using a spinning wheel. It does not have the stable beauty of industrial products, but each one has a handmade warmth.
For me, who had no experience in spinning, it was a really great thread.
I feel that the individuality of the person who spins is also reflected in the yarn.
I love that personality.
I imagine a spinner while winding this thread.

For the first time in knitting, invisible lines crossed mountains, crossed the sea, transcended language, and connected with people who love knitting.
I always felt that this was really surprising and happy.
This year was a confusing day all over the world, but I am grateful to have been able to proceed with this project.

少しづつ進めてきたNomadnoosの本について公開できるようになりました。

カーディガン、セーター、ショール、靴下、帽子、クラッチバッグの６パターンと、
使用した糸が生産されるモンゴルとネパールの季節の物語と写真が掲載された60頁のハードカバーの本となるようです。

Nomadnoosはまだ社会的に疎外されている女性が働けるようにと自立支援をしていますが、収益の一部をその活動に寄付をするようです。

Nomadnoosの糸は糸車を使った手紡ぎの糸です。工業製品のような安定した美しさはないものの、ひとつひとつが手仕事によるものだと思える、でも、これが人の手で？と紡ぎをしたことのないわたしには、もう驚くばかりの糸でした。
カセによる個体差もあり、長さ重さも不安定ですが、紡いでいるその様子をみると、その個体差もまた人の手から人の手へ渡っているものなんだということをとても感じ、愛しくもあります。今回はどうかな？とひとかせひとかせ糸を巻きながら紡ぎ手、そして紡いでいる様子に思いを馳せてしまいます。

本自体は英語ですが、日本語のパターンも準備しています。
本はクラウドファンディングを頼りに発行されます。

わたしの人生で一冊の本に関わることができるそんな機会が訪れるとは思いもしませんでした。
編み物をはじめて、見えない線で山を越え、海を越え、言語も越えて、ただ編むことを愛するひとたちと繋がることができました。
いつもこのことが本当に不思議で、そして幸せなことだと感じていました。
今年は世界的に戸惑う日々でしたが、その中でもこの企画を進めることができたことに感謝します。
