Who-Cooks-For-You Pillow

It is knitted! It is done! Finished off after a long hiatus for weather too warm to be knitting in.
It is also more like 20" across. I know my tension was all over the place knitting this which may be the culprit. Used Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off. May have been too much. Now blocking!

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a knitter within reach of a pattern's ending, must run out of a color her LYS doesn't stock halfway through the last row of its use.

Progress continues but is much slower out here in borderland.

Owls achieved. Much bordering yet to go.

Getting into the owl goggles.

Tension on the carried colors is something I've only had to deal with a couple times before, & have a tendency to knit tightly. I have gone through two phases of trying to loosen things up, but am still kind of worried. Left some excess in colors I'm worried about to try to stretch through.

Owl bottoms appear. Just after row 22 completed.

about to switch to circular needles.

IT BEGINS. On splintery wood needles that have been through a lot, because I haven't managed to get new DPNs yet.

The yarn! The yarn is here!

REVISED - More in my notes, but this is the modified chart I made for the colors I'm working with. Excited! - PS, I recolored this but it's properly copyright Jenise Hope, the pattern creator.

This is Deep Ocean Green, the background color I'm using.

These are all the colors of Catona, and the image from which I created the swatches to make my color-switched chart. I ended up shopping from a UK site because I couldn't find all the ones I wanted elsewhere. PS - Copyright Scheepjes, not me.

This is my first draft extremely dorkly approximation of how the thing should look with the colors I'm using. Note that especially around inside edges, because the knit pillow front is designed to bulge out rather than be flat, are fudged. - PS, I fiddled with this but it's from an original pattern copyright Jenise Hope, the pattern creator.

So the rusty colored thing we're on is the couch these pillows will go on, and the carpet I want them to coordinate with visible in the upper left - and I'm snuggling the reason I needed to go with waterproof and relatively disaster proof yarn as much as possible.
