I’m knitting this with the KAL. I was gifted this beautiful yarn and decided to use it although I have enough yardage it is not all the same colorway. I hope it will give my first official sweater character.

I knitted my swatch with size 7.00 mm needles. It is much larger than the recommended. Again I hope this will add to the character of the sweater.

The yarn is much softer once I started knitting and I love the color transitions.

I blocked the swatch and it increases in size several inches. I made the adjustment to the pattern numbers accordingly.

I realize I’m taking a huge risk at this point. I’m using several different colorways AND I am using a larger needle. However, I believe it will workout just fine. That’s all apart of knitting.

So as they say in the Hunger Games….“Let the games begin and may the odds ever be in (my) favor.” :o)

I had to decide how to use the yarn. I have 6 colorways. I’ve decided to alternate skeins in somewhat of a pattern. I will pay close attention to determine if I’ll continue for now I will rotate whole skeins since the row-by-row looked too choppy.

CO according to my swatch and I’m officially working on the body.

I had a long holiday weekend and worked on my sweater every chance I had. I am loving the progress but somehow I got turned around on the shoulder & front shaping area.

I’m hoping it will all work out and my sweater doesn’t become the ugly duckling of the bunch. :/
