casting on 167 for the back, for a finished size around 57”

knitting 23” in plain ribbing, then binding off an extra 10 stitches at each armhole, to get back to 53.5” size pattern stitch count & instructions

right front: alternated 14rows chart with 14rows plain, until armholes, then did 16 between chart repeats as pattern states, so that the first cable section after armholes begins on the same row as the neck shaping.

left front: used same pattern - 14chart/14plain, then 14chart/16plain

sleeves: using 14chart/14plain pattern, since I’d like the sleeves a little shorter than the pattern calls for. still using increase pattern (1st chart row, then every 4th - 5, 9, etc) & stitch count for largest size, but #rows from the next group down - total 134 rows before saddle shaping begins. each sleeve will be 160 rows total. using backward loop for all increases.

finishing: seaming was daunting, but not especially difficult… I just had to come to grips with the idea that ‘good enough’ was all that was possible, given the increase edges & saddle vs front/back construction. I’m extremely pleased with it, and will get pictures up in about a month, when it’s delivered. :)
