Although I am an experienced knitter, this is my first pair of socks. I knew that knitting them is not for the faint-hearted, but my husband is totally knitworthy!
What helped me finish them (besides my obstinate temper) was :

  • using colored yarn markers to separate the different charts (I printed the charts, each on a separate file and also color-coded them);
  • for a slippery yarn, like mine, circular needles and magic loop instead of DPN’s; also, using a split ring marker, instead of a cable needle was life saving. Well, especially for people like me, who don’t use to knit cables very often.
  • separate row-counters at least for for the center front knot chart and calf chart;
  • reading the errata (how to increase 1-to-5, page 68); btw, the calf chart has also a mistake on row 7, but you can easily spot it.
  • other people comments about making symmetrical cables on the second sock. Thank you! pray
