Stash buster knits 3/2026

It was love at first sight, but also a challenging project.
First of all, my gauge was way different. Laurel is worked sideways, which makes rows gauge critical. Conversion factors worked and I’ve got the dimensions needed for a good fit.
Secondly, because it is a charted pattern and I wanted to shorten the sleeves and the sweater’s length. This was easy to solve using an old sweater of mine (last picture). Deciding when to start knitting the sleeves’ charts was easier this way.
Thirdly, you have to seam the FO. This part went smoothly but I still think the garter stitch selvedge wasn’t needed at all.
Last, but not least, some editing wouldn’t hurt! I am an experienced knitter, but the English version is unnecessarily complicated and I made several mistakes. The most important was misplacing the leaves on the front part of my sweater.
Oh, well…For me, it is still a brilliant five stars pattern and I intend to knit a second one.
