Love this one! A very quick and enjoyable knit.
The pattern is easy to customize. You can use much thinner yarns from your stash if you keep in mind that both panels A& B are squares with 21.5 (24.5) cm sides.
I wanted a longer cowl, to be able to pull it up over my ears when is windy or freezing cold. Knowing my yarn will grow up a lot after washing it, I just used the numbers recommended for size 2.
Alternating Cable cast-on 39 stitches and worked only 77 rows for both panels A&B, because my row gauge was different.
Knitting the 2 square panels is easy and relaxing, but you must pay attention before joining them. The 12 recommended rows on the edge of panel A are the first 12 slipped edge stitches from the CO.
Afterwards, for less experienced knitters I would recommend to pick-up from the edge of panel A the same number of sts as the rest of live sts on panel B. This way, you will have to work just a simple 3 needle bind off. And (at least for me), using only the tip of the needle or a smaller needle will produce a neater BO of this part.
I used this Stretchy BO for Ribbing to bind off panel C.

Discontinued yarn from my mother’s stash, which is nice but grew up a lot after washing it. Lesson learned: I am happy with this bigger cowl, but I will have to knit and block a swatch even for the easiest projects.
