After reading about Pi Shawl math and looking at some photos, I’m using EZ’s premise to create my first project that doesn’t follow a pattern: eyelet lace at intervals to mask the increases. Color blocking will be a tonal shift from creamy parchment in the center to a band of warm sand, and then an outer band of camel. If I run out of yarn for an edging, I have a beautiful skein of chocolate brown hand spun that I can use for an eyelet ruffle or a picot bind off.

February 2017: Ran out of the Sand color; found a Raveler with leftovers to share, and only lost a week of time without yarn.

March 2017: Yardage indicates that the Camel should take me just through one knit round beyond the final increase (1,152 stitches). Have decided to use the chocolate handspun from Phoebe for a picot bind-off.

January 2018: Half the bind off remaining.
