Notes

My mother’s oven mitts have holes work near the fingertip ends. I learned this the hard way -- and when I asked her why she kept such broken pot holders lying around, she said, “I never think about it; I just burn my tea towels using them to lift pots.”

I went shopping for yarn the next morning, and improvised a little rectangular pattern of doubleknit stripes. I’m making it tea towel shaped, with a natural fold in the middle, and will post photos shortly.

Doubleknit cast-off is really easy, but then it’s the first one I’ve learned. Stripes are fun. I would love to make a few of these for myself!
