Number of pattern repeats

Starting with the garter stitch section, the final shawl has:

12 repeats of the garter section
12 repeats of the lace stitch section
14 repeats of chevron section

My final lace section is 12 rows (not 8, as suggested)

This was the only part of the pattern that made me pause for thought: when to stop doing the pattern and start the chevron edge to be sure I’d have enough yarn to make the edge effective.
