9/15/ - Swatching
Swatch (coaster) completed, casting on left sleeve
9/17 - Left Sleeve
Cuff finished. Starting welts.
9/22 - Left Sleeve
Welts Completed. I used a teensy bamboo dpn to pick up the lower rows from the backside as i went along, about 25 at a time, then knit them together. much easier that way. easier to see, easier to manipulate, easier to pick up. Kitten chewed on cable and now my stitches don’t slide quite so well. This sucks, as it is a special order Addi click cable that is like - 5 feet long and cost about a thousand dollars and flew her from antartica on the back of an albatros or something.
10/30 - Left Sleeve, continued
Sleeve is progressing. Knitting with a kitten is a challenge. Mistakes were made. Snags are visible. Ah well.
i now have a very fancy cushy gauntlet and am heading into vambrace territory. excitement abounds! (not, actually. TV knitting at its finest.)
11/15 - Underarm Shaping and Body
The kitten has a new-found love of yarn. Lovely Fluffy Balls of yarn. The further down i get in my yarn cake and the looser it is (i’m a center-pull woman, for reasons) the more she loves it. She takes them out of my bag/box/bin and carries them around the room, in and out of furniture legs, over the piano, through the dog gate and cat door, and even outside if she can. This adds an interesting degree of complexity and texture to the project i find, but does not diminish the cuteness of Miss Nelly.
12/3 - My Birthday, and MOSAIC COLOR WORK DAY!!
I have long dreamed of this day! Contrast! Fresh un-molested wool! I’m turning off the TV and hunkering down for the count!
12/6 - Right Cuff
Time is a flat circle.
12/24 - Festivus Break - see y’all in a few days for colorwork!
12/28 - Colorwork and GRAFTING
Ok - so i started in with the 3 needle bind off, but damned if i don’t like the extra ridge there. not for me. I am like the only lonely knitter that truly enjoys kitchener grafting. it is miraculous to me that you can even do such a thing! pure knitting magic.
I’ll start the endless ridges in a few days
1/1 - Happy New Year!
The longest mountain range on Earth is called the mid-ocean ridge. Spanning 40,389 miles around the globe, it’s truly a global landmark.
Today i start the body welts, which are just a few inches shorter, since i made the foolish decision to extend the length of my Letho cardigan by 56 stitches/rows.
1/16 Welts Completed
Spa vacation on the books. Drinking planned. Nature is involved, despite rain in the forcast. If only I had a wooly cardigan to help me out…
1/26 - Bottom Ribbing
Having successfully avoided the cardigan in favor of 7 sock heels, 12 kitten toys, 4 pot holders, a hat, a lacy umbrella, a 4’x2’ expansion of my yarn wall, and a new chore wheel for my dear husband to ignore I have decided to complete this project before i die.
I can’t find any #5 needles longer than 2 inches, so we’re playing fast and loose with #4s
