A tip on the pattern

In the written instructions for the body of the shawl, at the marker in the middle the pattern reads:

(rm) yo (pm)

Meaning remove marker, yarn over, place marker. For some reason it took me a while to wrap my head around this until I realized I could just do:

(whatever pattern says to marker), yo, sm (slip marker)

It may just be the way my brain works, but I understood it better that way. Hope that makes sense to someone.

I’m almost done with the eyelet band before the lace edging, and I’m pretty sure the marker can be removed after finishing the body of the shawl.
