Notes

Mainly I am playing with the concept. This is wide enough to be a very wide scarf, but I have a lot of scarves. If I can find enough yarn, it might become a vest.

Got more yarn, still planning a vest. Back will be solid. See pic 2. The front pieces are each a whole skein (minus a bit to make them the same length)

Original back did the V stitch wrong (vs foundation DC) and it was curling. This is fixed.

Rate of yarn consumption vs material made looks good. Plan is a straight piece up the back with some shoulder and neckline shaping, joining the pooled pieces to make a ruana, then add on the sides to close

I could stop here, and call it a ruana, but I have plenty more yarn, and I think I am more likely to wear a vest, if daughter doesn’t steal it from me.

Done. Yet another stitch pattern to do the sides proper, and attached by crochet, just far enough to leave armholes. Then a single crochet border around it all.
