Inspired by one of the kits, I ordered a different yarn with similar colours, plus one, from a LYS. I think I will use all six.

Swatch to check if I switch light yellow with light pink. No, I am keeping my vibrant, warmer colorway. (Note to self: add the swatch when light is good.)

Cast-on and knit until 6/9 of part 2.

A: hot pink
B: dark burgundy
C: mangue
D: ocre
E: yellow

After the first clue, I swapped a couple of colours to get better contrasts and harmony in a couple of spots.

Tip: The cross cross section was a lot easier once I figured out how to let the 4 passed elongated stitches rest on the left of the first 4 we need to purl, THEN take them back on the left needle and purl them. Only 4 stitch to manage at the time : a lot easier to keep them on good order. (Hopefully I make sense.)

My border:
I did « 25 repeat of icord » then « pick-up and knit 24 stitches along the icord ». Then pretty much followed the main pattern formula. (The original pattern would have more stitches but I wanted a thinner border.)
My stripes change colour in the middle of the crosses, not between them, so the first color is « 6 garder ridge plus the icord » wide.

J’ai fait un icord de 25 rangs, relevé et tricoté 24 mailles en redescendant le long de l’icord, puis continué avec le motif principal de la bordure.
Mes couleurs changent au milieu des croix. La première raye fait six côtes de point mousse plus l’icord.
