casting on my first project for my 14 in 2014 stashbuster challenge!
jan - this is a top-down raglan cardi, and i’m almost ready to divide for sleeves. but i’m still undecided on how i’m going to finish it - i have way more eco than highlander, wondering if i have enough to do a double-breasted shawl-collar thing? sort of like this, or this…
jan - the bodice is about waist-length now; will do a few more stripes and then rib. whooo!
jan - bodice is done, and i’m working my way down the sleeves, doing both at once, working from both ends of both balls. have had a few tangles, but working it out.
jan - sleeves are halfway done, i’m at the decreasing stage. going back and forth between “ack running out of yarn” and “everything is fine”
jan - got to end of alpaca with the sleeves; decided i needed to start decreases sooner. snipped yarn so each sleeve has an equal amount, ripped one sleeve out, reknitting.
jan - have ripped out and rekint the sleeves about 3 times now! may have to rip the bodice back to the last eggplant stripe to use for the sleeves; not ideal, but the sleeves need the length more. is it crazy that i’m thinking of ripping & re-knitting the vest i made out of this yarn a while back, for the sake of these sleeves?
jan - finally have finished the sleeves and picked up sts for the button band/collar! wahoo.
jan - so close to done. wish i had just a weeeee bit more of the eco to make the ribbing deeper! no one local has this colourway, or i’d try to do a swap or something. le sigh.
ok, i bound off. now to block & add buttons. but the knitting at least is done!
