Notes

I wanted to make two socks at once on two circs, so I used the Boot Socks pattern from Knit Picks, which describes how to do that from the top down. But the yarn I used was fingering yarn (the Boot Socks pattern calls for worsted weight yarn). I used the book Sensational Knitted Socks to determine the number of stitches to cast on, and for the pattern I used a 4x4 rib. My calf/ankle are larger than my foot, so after I turned the heel, I decreased down to the next lower size.

This is the second pair of socks I’ve made using the “two at once” method. This time I found the method a lot easier to manage. There is a fair bit of fiddling involved after each row to prevent the two yarn balls from tangling, but this takes up less time than the fiddling I always have to do when I knit socks one at a time, because I lose count and they end up different sizes. I immediately cast on for another pair of two-at-once socks after finishing this pair.
