This is a test knit for Jules Cooper of JBeanMade in collaboration with Olde School Crafts and Fiber in Gorham, Maine. I cannot go to the store that much as it is a bit out of my way, but I visited it and it truly is a beautifully curated space.
The hat is cozy and being double, knit with a liner, it is going to be super warm. The directions are clear and very intuitive. This project has a lovely colorwork star motif. It could be a beginner colorwork pattern, as there are no long floats to manage and the chart is only a part of the hat.
I am trying alpaca for the lining, but I may want to knit the ribbing of the second hat in the main color yarn so when I stitch them together the gray won’t be as visible.
2/17/26 I finished the inside hat and stitched it together with the outer hat. It makes a cozy, double knit hat. Super cozy! The alpaca inside will be good for my extra sensitive husband; on his head and neck he needs only soft yarns ( a result of his cancer treatment over a decade ago). The instructions were easy to follow and clear.
