-yarn is handspun from various natural materials including various wools, alpaca, and silk
-roving bits left over from dyeing experiments and other spinning projects are recarded and then spun into a slubby single that’s then chain plied
-the resulting yarn is then overdyed with a combination of food dyes, attempting to achieve purple- with variable results (some yarns don’t overdye as intensely and some skeins don’t come out purple at all, 2 have come out brown and one came out midnight blue). some skeins are redyed if very little color has struck, as has happened with a couple of skeins.
-the yarn is then knit into a shawl for summer festival
