Hoping for approximately a cushion-sized piece. Added 5 stitches to each side and 4 stripes to each end to give the circle a bit of space.

Tiny slippy needles, many dropped stitches, much aching of the fingers. A great deal of swearing. Non-organic knitting - slavish following of a chart without being able to “read” the fabric along the way. At least one row knitted back-to-front. Not portable. Yes, this was a slog.

Was it worth it? Maybe. Blocked gently (to minimise curl at side edges) to about 15”/38cm square. The fabric is very dense. The illusion… fleeting. Probably mostly due to the inadequate contrast between the two colours. The lighter green is more variegated and has browns and blues in which I hoped would be reminiscent of bark and sky. If this is turned into a cushion cover the second side is not going to be another version of the first.
