Notes

Needed a project to take to work since the Flaum is now too large to transport on the bike - home knitting only. The first picture shows the bike bag and its contents, including the start of the first sock.

Have been eyeing this design with desire since the book first came out and got the wool for it ages ago. The question is, will the excitement of the colour work entirely woo me away from the (let’s face it) boredom of ribbing sleeves?

First sock complete. I left out the suggested last six rounds of the foot for the smallest size since it was obvious it was going to be too long for my foot. Since that meant finishing after a full pattern repeat that’s fine. It does fit, but would be better (imho) with more foot pattern and less stripy toe.

Now on to the second sock. There’s not much point in trying to make them match so I’m going to reverse the colour dominance and start at different points in the sequence.

Done! Insane and cosy but not very stretchy (no surprises there). If I were to make them again I’d put in another repeat of the pattern on the foot and make the toe correspondingly shorter. Now to block them.
